Very bad generalisation
Afrikaans South Africans ( cause it's really the only framework I can speak of personally,experience wise) lack the will to say no to a superior ( I feel a rather large liability in our upbringing), however I believe our biggest asset is our adaptability (to almost anything).

I would suggest that your generalization is accurate and in fact extends across cultures and is a pretty standard feature of human behaviour :)
