A few pics [part 1]

Started going through the pics of the holiday that we had in South Africa (now almost 3 weeks ago, can't believe it's been that quick) and found some ones I thought I'd like to share, just because I like them.

I believe all of these were taken during our time with Grea's parents in various places from Kroonstad (their home town) to Sodwana ( the yearly diving spot 300km odd North of Durban if I remember correctly) and St Lucia ( which is about an hour's drive south from Sodwana)..

Above : [From left to right] :
1] Grea's mom, dad and brother (at Sodwana's lodge)
2] Looking at the moon from the deck at Sodwana Coral Diver's lodge. The roofed area is where
diving gear is hanged up after it's been rinsed in fresh water
3] Looking back at the lodge from the pool deck. Not the best picture I took of it, but shows the
little lights they had nicely

4] Refreshments after a day's diving is always important, here a little mix of Mountain Dew and
the old time poker favourite, Apple Sours.... stuff they don't sell here.. *sigh*
5] My current wallpaper on my desktop. This was taken outside the cabin (in the left of the picture) where Grea and I slept. The exposure was 8 seconds long, and I couldn't have done it without the tripod which Grea's dad brought with.. unfortunately I had made a rookie photography mistake in setting the ISO all the way up to 1600, bad bad move, but the one's I have of ISO 100 aren't as nice as this one.. they are a lot clearer though.
6] Yup, that's me, diving on 9-mile reef in Sodwana. This was the 1st of two dives we did while being in Sodwana ( having reached Sodwana apparently a day after weather which had caused all dives to be cancelled for near on 2 weeks). The mask, my fins ( not in picture) and a really nice snorkel had been a gift from Grea and her family to get me going on getting diving gear of my own..if you look closely though you'll notice that it looks as if the wetsuite is on backwards, it is.. to the amusement of all on the boat I had discovered this about 5 minutes before launch. I was however really not keen on trying to get out and back into it again, and then showing off the pink front of it.. next time, I'll take the 10 minutes to turn it around, not a comfy dive from that point of view, kept feeling as if I was being strangled.. but there won't be a next time pink suite, that I have vowed to myself.

Those are all Sodwana pics, so I think I'll add some more ( trying to make them in categories) tomorrow, there's just a fair amount to sort through :)
